At The Hummingbird Bakery we like to do what we can to support incredible charities and help them champion their causes with cupcakes.

Founded to honour the memory of Stephen Lawrence, who was murdered in 1993 in an unprovoked racist attack at the age of just 18 in South East London where he lived, the Blueprint for All works to create a fairer and more inclusive society.
Stephen aspired to be an architect and to shape the world around him for the better, but tragically he was never able to fulfil his ambition. The charity was established in his name to inspire and enable young people from disadvantaged backgrounds aged 13 to 30 to succeed in their career of choice, regardless of their race, ethnicity or background. It empowers communities to tackle disadvantage and discrimination and works tirelessly to create a fairer society, where anyone can fulfil their dreams and potential.
The Hummingbird Bakery supports the Blueprint for All with ongoing product donations of cupcakes and cakes.
Customers can also choose to donate to the Blueprint for All via the button on our online checkout.

Charity Collections
The Hummingbird Bakery also uses the Food Drop tech platform, which aims to reduce food waste and support local charities in the process through surplus food item redistribution. We use their system to help charities book free collections of unsold products at our bakeries. This ensures that our leftover products go to those who really need them.
If you are a charity looking to pick up unsold food, please visit Food Drop here.

Friends of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital
‘Hummingbird’s unsold cupcake collections have been a huge benefit to our charity over the years. Their beautiful cupcakes have helped to boost our takings at numerous fundraising events, and we are so grateful to them for their support. Funds from our sales featuring Hummingbird cakes have gone towards many different projects to improve patient care at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, including most recently our ‘Butterfly Rooms’ project to create special side rooms for patients receiving end-of-life care.’
‘Hummingbird Bakery have donated their cupcakes to Soho Parish PTA a number of times over the last few years and they have helped us raise money for the children at Soho Parish Primary School. The cupcakes are delicious and both adults and children love them. So thank you!!’
‘Hummingbird Bakery cakes have helped us raise collectively over £2500 over 18 months. This has been a huge help in getting 36 Scouts aged 14-18 from Greater London Middlesex West and 4 adult volunteers to the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia in the summer of 2019. Our Scouts got to attend the biggest World Scout Jamboree ever with 45,000 scouts from over 150 countries in the world for 2 weeks in West Virginia. Our Scouts have been able to develop themselves as individuals but as a group too. They have been able to experience Scouts from a wide variety of different cultures and backgrounds and learn about others’ home and Scouting life too. They have overcome personal fears and challenges throughout the last two years in preparation for the Jamboree and have developed into future leaders and ambassadors for Scouting. We cannot thank all the team at Hummingbird Bakery for all their donations over the last 18 months, it has helped us massively!’
